We offer races for all runners, from beginners through to established athletes. We have years of experience racing in various events, and hope that our insight into what makes a great event is reflected in the races we offer, allowing you to come along and enjoy the race day.

What we aim to provide

We aim to provide a well-run race that is designed around the competitor. We know that most competitors have someone else who tolerates their obsessions, so we also aim to put on races in areas that are spectator friendly, and will highlight local attractions for your family to visit whilst you're racing. If your “tolerant other” is interested, why not see if they want to volunteer as a helper? We are always on the lookout for volunteers, and for every volunteer, we can provide a complimentary entry into another of our races.

We aim to put on a well organised and enjoyable event for both participants and community alike, and hope to promote what we feel are the considerable charms and beauty of the area with our choice of route.

Our races feature

Well tested routes

We run the courses multiple times, and aim to choose courses that are varied, challenging, and which provide the very best of the amazing scenery.

A shorter and a longer distance race

Different people like different events….. You may be starting out in trail running and, if so, our shorter courses are an ideal introduction. We welcome all abilities and are keen to share our passion for trail running with all newcomers. Or you may be seeking out an interesting practice race before a longer event, or looking for the challenge of a longer distance but feel that a marathon is too great a step. Our longer courses are your ideal next step!

Well signposted and taped courses

You don’t need to map-read while you run: we provide signposted and taped courses, with marshals at key points. Detailed course descriptions are available on the specific race details page. Having said this, all competitors should carry a copy of the route map/description and compass with them, just in case you run into difficulties. We also can’t guarantee that tape and arrows will not sometimes go missing (either accidentally, or deliberately). We’d advise you at least know how to use a compass to find your route.

GPS downloads

We will provide a GPS track that you can download. The final route is usually made available in the weeks before the event, just in case there are any last minute amendments needed to the course.

A safe experience for competitors

All our events have been well risk assessed, and approved by the local council Safety Advisory Group. We check runners through at various checkpoints to ensure they are all accounted for. We ensure that there is adequate first aid cover, by experienced providers; AED Medical

Sweeper runner

All our races have a sweeper runner to ensure that everyone is accounted for. They will also keep you company if you want!

We support the local community

We aim to highlight local businesses and tourist attractions. If you are a local business, we are happy to link to you on our website. If you are interested in greater sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at madraces@outlook.com
